When we were looking for the home we're in now, we knew that we wanted a layout that allowed me to have a separated space from the rest of the home for my studio. I first fell in love with our current home for the layout and the beautiful natural light, the rest definitely needed a lot of work, the classic fixer upper. If I showed you the before pictures you'd be surprised how much a new paint colour can transform a space! Once we painted, we also took out the carpet and replaced it with hardwood, and changed the window hardware, coverings, casings and the baseboards. We also had the staircase painted and stained to match the rest of the room. After that, Jacquelyn worked her magic and helped us pull together the perfect studio-dining room combo. The space by the window is my main shooting space and I needed pieces there that were not permanent and easy to move around. The dining room side is where meetings and entertaining happens. I loved how everything turned out and can't wait to work on the next room!
